Yardbird Suite is one of the first bebop heads I learned. I like the changes, particularly in the bridge which start on the III of the key, which isn’t as common. The version I chose for listening is by pianist Hampton Hawes. He’s one of the lesser-known pianists of the bebop era, but unquestionably worthwhile listening to and studying.
