Milestones is a modal jazz composition written by Miles Davis. It appears on the album of the same name in 1958. It has since become a jazz standard. Milestones is also the title of a bebop standard credited to Miles Davis that pianist John Lewis had written for him while playing with Charlie Parker. I added it to the playlist for the fun changes it has to play on and the effective, yet economical melodic language it employs.
