Blues For Alice is a twelve-bar jazz blues. It’s an important musical form that introduces more complex changes based on the I, IV, and V traditional blues chords. It is more difficult to improvise on than the average blues tune. It is suggested to learn to comp it first to get used to the changes. The next version of this tune is recorded with no piano and is a great one to use for that purpose.
